How we research software

A useful software guide explains both the product’s stated capabilities and the work a buyer still needs to evaluate. CircuitVale Media separates vendor descriptions, editorial interpretation and observed testing.

Evidence labels

  • Research-based guide: analysis based on linked public product information. Suggested trial tasks are recommendations for evaluation, not tests we claim to have completed.
  • Hands-on test: used only when an article identifies the tested plan, date, scenario and supporting observations. Our launch collection does not use this label.
  • Vendor claim: a statement made by the provider. It is not an independently measured result.

Sources and pricing

Product guides link to official sources and state their research date. We avoid presenting a starting price as the full operating cost. Plan limits, billing definitions, regional availability and optional services should be confirmed with the provider. We do not assign invented scores or publish fabricated customer results.

Comparisons

Comparisons use the task, audience, handoff and intended output as decision criteria. Our conclusions are editorial judgments, with conditions explained. They are not universal rankings. A product may be suitable for one workflow and unnecessary for another.

Corrections and updates

Send the article URL, the statement in question and a supporting primary source through our contact form. We review the information and correct material errors. Product guides are dated so readers can identify information that needs a fresh check.

Commercial relationships

Payment or a referral arrangement does not establish product quality. Commercial links must be identified near the relevant recommendation. See our disclosure policy.
